NVWA tightens supervision of dietary supplements

The Dutch Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority will intensify its supervision of dietary supplements sold online. The focus will be on products containing banned substances or excessive dosages.

Unwanted ingredients that are not listed on the label are often found in weight-loss and sports products, which can pose a health risk.

The supervisory authority urges consumers to be critical when purchasing from unknown webshops and to report any doubts.
